Leah Pogorzala

Leah Pogorzala received her B.S. in Biotechnology from the Rochester Institute of Technology and her PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Rochester.  In her graduate studies she examined mitochondrial DNA maintenance and repair in budding yeast. Leah joined Dr. Mark Hoon’s laboratory at National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research in 2010 where she used mice to study the neural pathways involved in temperature sensation and pain.  In 2016, Dr. Pogorzala Joined the Office of Pain Policy and Planning at the National Institute of Neurological Research and Stroke where she is a Science Policy Analyst.
